Utah in the Fall is such a wonderful time. There are so many family friendly events. In this post we are going to explore A LOT of options.
There are pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and even exploring some of the best National Parks in the USA, which are of course in Utah.

Utah Pumpkin Patches and Farms
Are you thinking about visiting one of the many Utah Pumpkin Patches? Awesome, we love going every year and finding the perfect pumpkin.
At many of the Utah Pumpkin Patch locations, there are also fun activities for the whole family.
Let’s explore all the Utah Pumpkin Patches! This list will hopefully grow and improve each year!
Kuwahara’s Pumpkin Patch

Monday – Thursday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Friday 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday: 11:30 am – 10:00 pm
Sunday 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
Kuwahara is a legit pumpkin patch where you walk out and pick the pumpkin from the patch. We have been going to this patch since it first opened.
There are pumpkins of all different shapes and sizes. Pumpkins are sold by weight. Entry fee is $5 per person but will go towards your final purchase price on Monday -Thursdays. Friday and Saturday admission price does not go toward pumpkin purchase.
Thriller Park
Hours: 5:00 pm to close
Kuwahara has evolved over time and now offers more than just picking out a pumpkin. There is a thriller experience that includes:

- Shows
- Corn Mazes
- Bounce Houses
- Food Trucks
Mabey’s Pumpkin Patch

We went to Maybes last year and loved the simplicity of it. This is 16+ acres of pumpkins. You can grab a wheel barrel and pick out a pumpkin. It is in a great location, not too far off the highway.
There are cute photo opps available, so you will want to have a camera ready!
Cross E Ranch – Fall Festival

Fall Festival
Cross E Ranch offers a fall festival that does include a pumpkin patch but also has many other fun Utah fall activities. These activities include:

Harwood Farms is a great thing to do in Utah in Fall. The Jakers pumpkin event has an enormous pumpkin patch. There are also many activities which include:

Thanksgiving Point – Cornbellys

Cornbellys
Thanksgiving Point is one of the best things to include in your “Fall in Utah” list. They offer so much. In my opinion, Thanksgiving Point is the absolute best fall activity in Utah. They have over 50 attractions.
Some of these activities include:

- Corn Maze
- Rope Course
- Slides
- Bounce Houses
- and so much more
We go to Cornbelly’s every year. It is so fun you will want to spend your entire day there. At night time haunted attractions open up. Insanity Point is the haunted corn maze and has an additional cost.
There are a lot of things to do, see, and eat at Cornbellys. This is the first year for the Spanish Fork location.
Hee Haw Farms

The American West Heritage Center offers a fun time on the farm.

There are SO MANY fall activities in Utah. I am going to list some fun options. Utah in October is amazing! This list will continue to grow each year.

Sundance Full Moon Lift Rides

Fall in Utah Date Night
This is a great date night. You will enjoy a romantic lift ride up the mountain with the full moon shining overhead. The ride takes about 45 minutes – 1 hour to complete.
Halloween Cruise on the Provo River

Provo River Cruise
The Halloween cruise seats up to 40 people. As you board your captain will tell ghost stories while you pass by 100 hand-carved Jack-o-lanterns. The ride is family-friendly and lasts about 20-25 minutes.
Gardner Village

Witch Fest
Witch Fest is one of our favorite fall activities in Utah. There are crazy witches all around Gardner Village. You can do a scavenger hunt to find them all. Once you have finished you can head to the bakery and get a free cookie.
There is also a witch dinner theater and witch escape room that you can purchase tickets for. For the kids, there is a petting zoo, pony rides, and play areas for an additional cost.
Lagoon Frightmares

Amusement Park
Lagoon is Utah’s amusement park. There are lots of fun roller coasters and attractions. During Frightmares there are scary attractions including haunted houses and shows. For children, there is trick or treating throughout the park. It is a fun event!
Scary Hill at Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is a campground and small amusement park. They have some fun activities especially for Halloween which include:

Trick or Treat
Kids 12 and under can come dressed in costume and trick or treat. There are fun lights and decorations along the path to check out.
Snowbird Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest
Snowbird Ski Resort has been voted one of the top 10 Oktoberfest in America by Men’s Journal Magazine. There are fun activities at Snowbird. You can also book an Oktoberfest Getaway Package and stay at the resort.
Odyssey Dance Theater Thriller

Thriller will be shown at 6 different locations. They are:

- Salt Lake City
- Ivins
Admission:
Tickets are different prices at each location. They range from $21 – $40.
This is the Place Heritage Park – Little Haunts

Little Haunts
This is the Place Heritage Park offers a non-scary activity for younger children. There is trick or treating, storytelling, pumpkin roll, and candy cannon.
Haunted Aquarium

Regular admission allows access to the Halloween event.
What to Expect
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is decorated throughout the entire building. A scavenger hunt is available to do as you visit. Trick or treating is available on select days throughout October.
Heber Creeper – Pumpkin Train

What to Expect
The pumpkin walk features hundreds of carved glowing pumpkins. There are also scenes made of pumpkins and gourds. We have been to this event and it is very fun!
Haunted House Utah
I have to be honest, Utah haunted houses are some of the best in the country. One of the best things to do in the fall in Utah is visit a haunted house. There are so many I can’t even list all of them here. I will only list the BEST haunted houses in Utah.
Nightmare on 13th and X Scream

Two Attractions
Nightmare on 13th is the haunted house. X Scream is a second VIP attraction that is more scary. If you want to do X Scream your ticket includes both Nightmares on 13th and X Scream. You can not do X Scream alone.
Castle of Chaos

Nationally Recognized Haunted House in Utah
The Castle of Chaos has been recognized by the Travel Channel and USA Today as one of the scariest haunted houses in America. It is also recognized by Haunted World as the best-haunted house in Utah.
The Castle of Chaos also has escape rooms available to try out.
Fear Factory

Top 20 Scariest Haunted House in the World
Fear Factory is another nationally acclaimed haunted house with recognitions from the Travel Channel, USA Today, and Buzz Feed. Fear Factory is made up of 6 buildings and is 6 stories high. It is kind of creepy that its address is truly 666.
Dead City Haunted House

What is really neat about Dead City is that it has 6 themed haunted rooms, which are all incredible. Also, Dead City has a “chicken” option. You will be given a glow stick which informs employees not to jump out at you.

Haunted Corn Maze
This haunting begins at night. There are four haunted attractions but the premier haunted attraction is Insanity Point. The attractions include:

Scenic Drives in Utah
Alpine Loop
The Alpine loop begins at the American Fork Canyon and ends in the Provo Canyon. It is a beautiful place to see all the fall colors in Utah.
Hot Tip
As the trees change color this road gets busy. It is almost bumper to bumper as you complete the 20 mile stretch from start to finish.
Guardsman Pass
Guardsman Pass is located between the Brighton Ski Resort and Park City. It is one of the best places to see the fall colors in Utah.
Guardsman Pass is one of the most popular scenic drives in Utah during the Fall. The leaves start to change in September.
Utah National Parks
This list would not be complete without adding one of the best Fall activities in Utah, visit the Mighty five National Parks, and camping.
The weather is perfect in Utah during October for camping, hiking, and visiting the National Parks.
The five national parks include:
- Zion National Park
- Arches National Park
- Canyonlands National Park
- Bryce Canyon National Park
- Capitol Reef National Park
Although there are no special Halloween or Fall activities at the national parks, it is absolutely one of the best times to visit.
Utah Weather in October
The weather in Moab in October is unbeatable. The high is around 74 degrees. This is perfect for visiting Arches National Park and Canyonlands.
Capitol Reef is slightly cooler with an average high around 65 degrees. We went last October and it was perfect.
Zion National Park weather in October is around 66 degrees. This is a great temperature while you are hiking and exploring. Bryce Canyon is a little cooler around 57 degrees.
Visiting the Utah National Parks in October is the perfect thing to do during Fall in Utah!

I love Fall in Utah! The weather usually is nice and there is just so much to do! If you do not get a chance to visit Utah in Fall, Spring in Utah is wonderful. Winter in Utah is also an option if you love to ski or snowboard!
