Disney Springs is open year-round.  It is a beautiful area to walk around and to eat and shop.  There are also lots of entertainment options.

Just so you are aware, Disney Springs use to be called Downtown Disney.  Downtown Disney still exists at Disneyland and California Adventure.  They are similar however Disney Springs is much, much bigger!

Yes, Disney Springs has fantastic restaurants and fun places to shop.  There are so many fun things to do at Disney Springs. It is a perfect addition to your Disney World experience. 

Can you Spend a Full Day at Disney Springs?

Absolutely, There are so many stores! If you wanted to spend an entire day at Disney Springs you could. However, I think most people plan about 2-4 hours.  If you shop, eat, and attend the Cirque du Soleil show you can easily plan a entire day at Disney Springs. 

Can you Go to Disney Springs without Going to Disney World?

Yes! If you want that Disney magic without paying to enter a park no problem.  The World of Disney has almost every Disney product and Disney souvenir that is offered within the parks. You can shop at over 102 different stores and eat at one of 66 restaurants.

Getting to Disney Springs

Transportation to Disney Springs

Disney Springs is located in Orlando Florida.  It is on the Walt Disney World property.  

There are a few ways to get to Disney Springs. Driving, Uber, or using the Disney Springs bus system are the most common.  If you are staying at Old Key West you can take a Ferry to Disney Springs.

Disney Springs Bus Schedule 

The Disney Springs bus schedule is extensive.  Buses will take you to all of the Disney World hotel resorts, the Boardwalk, and there is even a Disney Springs shuttle to parks.  These buses run every 20 minutes.

Uber or Driving Service

On our last trip, we used both the Disney Springs bus service and Uber.  We didn’t have time to wait 20 minutes for the bus so we scheduled an Uber.  Uber drivers will drop you off close to the security checkpoint.  It is very convenient.

Driving is probably the easiest option to get to Disney Springs as long as you can find parking.

There are parking garages at Disney Springs.  These are FREE!  Keep in mind that on evenings, weekends, and holidays these parking garages do hit capacity.  The parking garages are conveniently located.

If you come to Disney Springs to see the Cirque du Soleil show there is valet parking available. Valet parking is around $20.

1. Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil is known for amazing acrobatic shows across the world. It is most popular in Las Vegas.  There is now a venue at Disney Springs.

The Cirque du Soleil show at Disney Springs has a Disney theme. Drawn to Life has fabulous reviews and is one of the best things to do at Disney Springs if you are looking for a fun night out on the town.  

Admission and Show Times

Ticket prices are between $85 – $185 depending on your seat location.  You should book your tickets online ahead of time. 

The show is available Wednesday – Sunday.  

Wednesday – Saturday Show Times: 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm

Sunday Show Times: 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm

2. Bowling at Splitsville

Another really fun thing to do at Disney Springs is Splitsville.  This is a retro bowling alley.

Splitsville is a 2 story bowling alley.  The lanes are separated throughout the building. Some are upstairs and some are downstairs.  The setup is pretty cool.  If bowling is on your list you will want to be sure to reserve a lane ahead of time. 

The reviews of Splitsville are very high. The food is great and it really is one of the best Disney Springs activities you can do. 

 

3. Vintage Amphicar Tour

The Amphicar is one of the best things to do at Disney Springs.  A floating car?!! How cool is that!!  

The Amphicar drives on land and also floats on the water.  The 20-minute guided tour is the perfect way to enjoy your time at Disney Springs.  It is one of the top things to do at Disney Springs.

$125 will accommodate 3-4 passengers.

You can get your tickets at the Boathouse Boatique which is located next to the ramp. 

4. Aerophile - Air Balloon Ride at Disney Springs

This is a hot air balloon Disney Springs ride.  This 8-minute ride will take you 400ft in the air and give you 360 degree breathtaking views of Disney World.

5. AMC Cinema

Who loves movies?  If you have been going hard and just want to sit back and relax and watch a movie, Disney Springs is the place.

AMC has a cinema located in the heart of Disney Springs.  This is a fun thing to do at Disney Springs! If you want to see a matinee show you will save 30% on your tickets. Sometimes on Tuesdays, special prices are offered. 

6. Waterslide Stage

The Waterslide Stage is centrally located across from the World of Disney and hosts a variety of performances. It is a great place to sit down and enjoy some live entertainment.

On our last trip, there was a high school orchestra playing Disney songs.  Listening to them was a really fun thing to do at Disney Springs. The seating is open so you can choose anywhere you would like to sit. 

7. Shopping at Disney Springs

Holy cow! Disney Springs has over 102 stores.  The shopping is good! It is an outdoor mall with some of the best retail stores out there.  There are also specialty shops that you can only find at Disney World.  

I am not going to list every single store in this post.  I am going to list the ones that are unique to Disney Springs.

8. World of Disney Store

One of the best places to go in Disney Springs is the World of Disney store. World of Disney is the best! It is huge! You can spend a good amount of time shopping around and looking at all the latest and greatest Disney merchandise. 

Didn’t get a chance to buy something in the park? No problem.   This store has every product you will see in the park and then some more.  If you didn’t get a chance to buy souvenirs in the park don’t worry you can buy them here.

Visiting this store is one of the best things to do at Disney Springs!  It is one of the fun things at Disney Springs to do! 

One thing that is cool about this store is that you can make your purchases on your Disney app. You can scan the items you want to buy and pay for them without standing in line. You just show your phone as you exit the building.   

9. Disney Springs Lego Store

The Lego Store is amazing.  One of the best things about the Disney Springs Lego Store is the Lego creations on display.  They are so fun to look at.  In fact, if you look out towards the lake you will see a gigantic Lego snake.

There are one-of-a-kind Disney-themed Legos at the Disney Springs store. The Disney castle is one of the top-selling Lego sets.

Make Mini Figures

There is a mini-figure factory at the Disney Springs location. You can actually create your own mini-figure.  There are a lot of Disney-inspired options to choose from as you create your mini-figure. It is really fun!

In the past, there have been Lego tables outside of the store. You can create and play outside.  This was closed on our most recent visit but I imagine it will be available soon.

This is a small Star Wars Galactic outpost at Disney Springs. I know I am a huge Star Wars fan so when I saw this store I knew I had to check it out. 

It has some fun Star Wars-themed products.  The décor is ultra-themed.  We loved stopping in and checking out the merchandise.

The M&M store is huge! It is one of the best things to do at Disney Springs! A lot of the products are Disney + M&M.  You will find cute products that have mouse ears on them.

This is a great Disney Springs store to walk around and enjoy! You can create your own M&M design. You will start at a kiosk and can create multiple designs. This typically costs between $20-$45.  You can also select pre-made M&M’s with Disney designs.

Goofy’s Candy Company is a sweet shop that has all the delicious treats you would find within the park.  There is fudge, cookies, cupcakes, and candy.  

If you are looking for a treat, Goofy’s Candy Company is one of the best places at Disney Springs to check out. Goofy actually has his very own candy brand.  I have tried these yummy gumdrops, gummies, and sour candies and they are delicious.

You can create your own treat at Goofy’s.  You can decide from a candied apple, toasted marshmallow, or a rice crispy treat.  You will pick a dipping flavor and a topping.

17. Ghirardelli

Ghirardelli is one of my favorite places.  When we visit San Francisco we go multiple times! They also have one at California Adventure at Disneyland. We always make sure to go! 

Ghirardelli Ice Cream

The Ghirardelli at Disney Springs is very similar to its other locations. The ice cream is amazing.  There are over 14 different flavors with lots of choices for toppings.  We love getting the sundaes and shakes. 

If you have a big group “The Earthquake” is a fun family favorite.  The brownies are fresh and delicious so anything that includes them is excellent. 

Ghirardelli has both a chocolate store and a sit-down area where you can order ice cream. 

18. Candy Cauldron

The Candy Cauldron is very similar to Goofy’s Candy Company. In fact, they sell the exact same products.  

The major difference is the décor and that it is located on the other side of Disney Springs. Plus, they specialize in poisoned apples.  There are lots of different varieties of dipped apples!

Everglazed opens at 9:00 am!  

What to Order

There are a lot of variety of donuts.  The colors and smells are very inviting! The most popular donut is the Cinnamon Toast Crunch donut and believe it or not a grilled cheeeeeese on a sweet bun.  

A grilled cheese donut does not sound good to me but I might have to go back and try it to see.

21. Vivoli IL Gelato

Vivilo il Gelato is a great place for a snack at Disney Springs. There are lots of flavors of Gelato to choose from.

The original Vivilo il Gelato is located in Florence.  It is legit! There are 24 different flavors.  The most popular are the rice pudding and bacio.

22. Rain Forest Café

The Rainforest Cafe is a fun atmosphere.  It is a restaurant at Disney Springs that you can not miss.  There is a huge volcano.

The volcano erupts every 20 minutes.  Watching the Volcano is a fun thing to do at Disney Springs even if do not want to eat there.  

The food at the Rainforest Cafe is okay.  It is nothing to write home about.  You pay for the atmosphere.

The Rainforest Café is very popular so booking a reservation ahead of time is recommended.  You can book a reservation through the Disney World App. 

Note: There are actually two Rainforest Cafe’s on Walt Disney World property. One is in Disney Springs and one is at the entrance of Animal Kingdom.  Make sure you book a reservation at the right one!

23. T-Rex Café

The T-Rex Café is awesome if you have kids that love dinosaurs.  This ultra-themed location has different rooms that will delight the senses. You could be seated in an ice cavern, a volcanic eruption, dino land, jellyfish, or a sea monster area. 

Things to Do at the T-Rex Café

There is a fantastic gift shop with lots of dino-themed items.  It is a great place to shop around if you have dino fans in your group. 

There is also a “build-a-dino” location (build a bear) You can create your own stuffed dino.  This is great for kids. 

One of the coolest things to do in Disney Springs is located at T-Rex Café.  There is a dino dig site.  Your kids can dig and uncover dinosaur bones.  This is located near the gift shop. You do not have to be dining at the café to enjoy the dino dig. 

The food is okay but you are really coming here for the atmosphere.  Every 20 minutes the restaurant comes alive!

There is Hollywood memorabilia everywhere to check out.  Now, you might be thinking I have eaten at Planet Hollywood before and it wasn’t great. Well, Guy Fieri has added some award-winning menu items that are worth a try. There are also some incredible desserts.

Raglan Road is authentic, even the furniture is made in Ireland.  Everything in the restaurant takes you on a trip to Ireland.  One of the most exciting things about this awesome pub is the live entertainment.

There are Irish dancers that preform 4 times during the evening hours.  There is also live music.  It really is a fun location! 

There are a lot of seafood dishes and fun appetizers.  If you are looking for good Irish fare this is the place!

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin is the best restaurant in Disney Springs. This place has amazing food!  Southern homecooked food.  You will die and go to heaven when you try the biscuits.

Saratoga Springs is within walking distance of Disney Springs.  This is an official Disney Resort.  You can get great deals through David’s Vacation Club.  

You might also want to look at Old Key West.  This is another official Disney resort that has a ferry boat to Disney Springs.

  1. I never get bored going to Disney Springs. You have a great list of some of the best things to do here at Disney Springs! Some of our favorites are the Star Wars stores, M&M store, and parking there & taking the free buses to the resorts! We live only 1.5 hours away!

  5. This makes me want to plan a Disney World trip! We haven’t been in so long. Our last two Disney trips have been to Disneyland, which I love, but I love Disney World too. We love Raglan Road, and my kid always wants to eat at T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe. Disney Springs is how we always start our trip. We often stay off-site and ease into Dianey–lol. Then we move to our room onsite when we start going to the parks.

  6. There is so much to do at Disney Springs. I love the Boathouse, Wine Bar George, and Homecoming. I love the huge Disney store and Amorette’s. The best pastries there!
