The World Showcase

best epcot resturants

Some of the best restaurants at Epcot are located in the World Showcase.  This is the area at the back of the park that focuses on cultures.

Different countries are represented.  In different countries, there are quick-service restaurants and dine-in or “table service” restaurants.   In this section, we are only going to list the best food at Epcot from each country.

We will start clockwise with our opinions of each restaurant represented.

Get Dining Reservations

Disneyland Funnel Cake

If you are planning on eating at Epcot and want to enjoy one of the many sit-down restaurants, you will want to make sure you book a reservation.

The Disney Dining Plan allows you to have 1 table service credit per day of your stay.  Some of the nicer restaurants at Epcot require the use of 2 table service credits and in fact, some of the signature restaurants are not even included in the dining plan.

Just be aware so you know which reservations you would like to make before your trip.

1. Mexico Pavillion

best places to eat in Epcot Mexico

Mexico is my favorite place to eat at Epcot. It offers two table service restaurants and a counter service restaurant.

I make sure to eat at the La Cantina de San Angel on every Walt Disney World trip. I think Mexico has the best food at Epcot!

La Hacienda de San Angel

Dinner in Epcot - Mexico
Disney Dining Plan: Table Service
Reservations Recommended

La Hacienda is a hard-to-get reservation. I have wanted to go on every trip I have taken to Epcot but haven’t been able to get in.

Menu Price

Menu items range from $15 to $35.  The menu items at both La Hacienda and the quick service La Catina are very similar.  Because I love La Cantina I know I would love the food at La Hacienda de San Angel.

You will have more menu items at La Hacienda de San Angel than La Cantina and more seating options! La Cantina is so busy, it is hard to find a seat.

If you love Tex-Mex, try to get a reservation for La Hacienda!

San Angel Inn Ristorante Lunch at Epcot - Mexico

Disney Dining Plan: Table Service
Reservations Recommended

San Angel is all about the atmosphere. The lighting is dark and you get to eat near a Mayan pyramid.

Meal Price

Menu prices start around $15 to $34.  This sit-down restaurant menu offers a lot of variety.

My Opinion

It is pretty cool.  We have eaten here and liked it. The style of Mexican food is more what you would find in central Mexico.  It was good.

The atmosphere is the main attraction.  The Mayan pyramid and the night sky are amazing!

San Angel Vs. La Hacienda

If you are trying to choose between the two main sit-down restaurants, you might like the food at La Hacienda more because it is more Americanized. But if you are all about the atmosphere San Angel is the place to book.

La Cantina de San Angel

Eating around the world epcot - mexico
Disney Dining Plan: Quick Service

La Cantina is a counter-service restaurant.  It serves a condensed menu of La Hacienda.

Meal Price

The price of meals ranges from $9 to about $15.  The sides and desserts are less.

My Opinion

It is seriously amazing! I love the nachos! You have to try them! La Cantina is the very best lunch at Epcot.  It is very busy around lunch and dinner.

There are tables set up outside and they are usually full.  What people might not know is that there is an indoor seating area around the back of the ordering stations.

Most people do not know about this area so you can usually find a seat. This seating section attaches to La Hacienda.

You can use Disney Moblie Ordering at La Cantina which is awesome!

2. Norway Pavillion

Best Places to eat at Epcot - NOrway

Norway is your next major stop on the World Showcase.  One of the best Epcot character dining restaurants is located here next to the Frozen Ride.

Akershus

Reservations Recommended

Akershus is one of the best character dining experiences at Disney World if you want to meet the Disney princesses.

Disney Princesses at Akershus

  • Ariel
  • Mulan
  • Belle
  • Cinderella
  • Jasmine
  • Snow White
  • Aurora
  • Mary Poppins

Meal Price

Eating with the princess comes with a heavy price tag.  It is over $60 per adult and over $40 per child.

My Opinion

We have been a few times to Akershus.  It is such a fun place when you have little girls who love princesses.  You really get special attention and fantastic photo ops.

We actually prefer this restaurant to the Magic Kindom Cinderella Castle.  The food is better.  It is unique food your kids may or may not like.

My kids were not big fans of the food but loved the princesses.  I think most of the adults in our group enjoyed the menu offerings.

My Opinion

It hurts a little bit when you pay $40 for your kids and they do not touch their food, but I guess one way to think about it is that you are paying for skip-the-line princess photos with several princesses!

Kringla Bakeri Og KafeBest places to eat breakfast in Epcot - Norway

Disney Dining Plan: Snacks

One thing I love about the World Showcase is the ability to try treats from all over the World.  The Kringla Bakeri has some of the best snacks at Epcot.

Price

Most of the Epcot Snacks here range from $5-$7.  There are lots of options all with a Norwegian/Scandinavian flare.

There is the famous school bread and pretzels, but you might also find a few Elsa-themed snacks as well.

My Opinion

For us, we make sure to stop here every time we visit Epcot. Typically the line isn’t too long and you can get in and out pretty quickly.  I love trying foods from other counties so this is one of the best Ecpot snack stops for me!

We have not had a chance to eat at Nine Dragons. Mainly because not everyone in our family likes Chinese food.  The Google reviews are pretty good for this restaurant.

My Opinion

If you are looking for a traditional American Chinese restaurant where you can order a few dishes and share them family style, this is the place.  They have lots of delicious choices.

4. African Outpost

Places to eat Epcot - African outpost

The African Outpost is an area between China and Germany.  There is a refreshment area that sells beverages and hotdogs.

Once upon a time, there was going to be an African pavilion but it never was developed.  This area represents the “Outpost” which is a rural trading post in West Africa.

You can take a break and relax in this area.

5. Germany Pavillion

Epcot dining in Germany

When I went to Germany, I was pregnant and had a hard time with the food.  So when I visit Disney World I really never want to eat in Germany!

I am the exception, most people love the Biergarten Restaurant.

Biergarten Restaurant

Best Restaurants Epcot - GermanyDisney Dining Plan: Table Service

The Biergarten has an awesome atmosphere.  There is a live polka band and a dancing stage.

The waiters bring around fabulous selections of bratwurst, rotisserie chicken, pork schnitzel, and a variety of salads. There is also cheesecake and apple strudel.

Meal Price

Price range from $35 to $60.  There are lots of choices of German Beers available which can make the price go up.

My Opinion

I would go to the Biergarten Restaurant, I think the atmosphere would be so much fun.  This would be the first choice for some of my family members.

Sommerfest and Karamell-Kuche

Food at EpcotDisney Dining Plan: Quick Service

Somerfest and Karamell-Kuche are a quick-service restaurant offering a variety of German snacks and drinks.  You can get a bratwurst but also get treats like pretzels and bread pudding.  Beer is the main attraction at Sommerfest

Tutto Italia Ristorante

One of our favorite memories at Epcot was made at Tutto Italia Ristorante.  We went a few years back and loved it.  The staff is wonderful! It was one of the best Epcot dining experiences we have had.

Meal Price

The prices range from $15 to $35.  The food options are traditional Italian food such as spaghetti, lasagna, and other delicious pasta.

My Opinion

I thought the food was pretty good.  It wasn’t as good as the food in Italy.  However, the atmosphere was fabulous and the wait staff really was so nice.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

Best Restaurant in Epcot

Disney Dining Plan: Table Service
Reservations Recommended

This restaurant serves wood-fired Neopolitan pizza.   It is hard to get a reservation because it is so popular.

Meal Price

This restaurant is pretty pricy. Pasta dishes start at around $30 and a large pizza is $40.

My Opinion

I have tried the pizza from the Pizzeria Coutner and I didn’t like it very much.  It tasted so different from what I am used to.  I was not a fan. I have heard that the pizza at the counter is different from what is inside the restaurant.

Pizza al Taglio and Geleteria Toscana

7. The American Adventure

Places to eat in Epcot - America

One thing I love about eating at Epcot is each family member can eat in a different country. This gives us a taste of lots of different flavors!

America is a safe place to eat in Epcot for our kids.  We know they will like the menu.  We typically eat at the quick-service restaurant.  There are also some classic Disney World snack options: turkey legs, Joffery’s Donuts, and funnel cakes.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse

Best food in Epcot AmericaDisney Dining Plan: Table Service
Reservations Recommended

Regal Eagle Smokehouse is perfect if you have some Bar-b-que lovers in your family. We do!  This is a great spot for an Epcot lunch option.

Meal Price

The prices range from $10 to $17.  But honestly, pork ribs for under $20 is not a bad deal.

My Opinion

A few years back they served chicken and fries which my kids love, on our most recent trip it was taken off the menu.  There are cheeseburgers and bar-b-que options.  It is pretty good.

I think when I am in Epcot, I always head to more exotic spots, but with kids, we have stopped and eaten at Epcot American Adventure many times just to avoid our kids complaining!

Funnel Cakes and Turkey Legs

The Japan pavilion in Epcot has a lot of restaurants. If you love Habachi-style dining or traditional Japanese cuisine this is where you want to make a reservation.

Teppan Edo

Best places to eat at Epcot - JapanDisney Dining Plan: Table Service
Reservations Recommended

Teppan Edo is a fun experience.  We love eating Habachi-style! Your chef cooks your food right in front of you.  A lot of times they will throw the food on your plate and sometimes do a juggling act.  It is entertaining.

The food is amazing! Steak, shrimp, noodles, and all of the best Japanese cuisine.

Meal Price

I am not exactly sure how pricing works, the menu is pretty expensive if you order things individually.  On the Disney website, it says up to $35 per adult, but I have a feeling it is a lot more than that.

Tokyo Dining

Disney Dining Plan: Table Service

Tokyo Dining is located in the same building as Teppan Edo.

Tokyo dining is a traditional Japanese restaurant with sushi and sashimi.  It is much more affordable compared to Teppan Edo.  If you are in the mood for some good sushi rolls this is the place

There is an exception to that rule, and that is Garden Grill and Space 220.

Eating around the world epcot

I want to help you create the best Epcot restaurant list. But first I need to tell you about my plan of attack!

My Plan for Eating at the Best Restaurants at Epcot

I always stay at one of the Epcot resorts and I always get a park hopper ticket. This is key to my plan.

After enjoying, other Disney parks I come back to my hotel to rest. Once I am rested I always plan to eat dinner at Epcot.  I make reservations for my favorite Epcot restaurants.

Staying at an Epcot Resort

If you are wondering which resorts are closest to Epcot here is a list of my favorites:

If you want to stay at the Disney resorts you can save money by using David’s Vacation Club. Seriously, we have used this and saved over $1000 for one night.

We have also stayed at Marriotts Swan and Dolphin a few times and really like it.

  • Le Cellier (Epcot Dining)
