Visit Kirby Cafe Tokyo, Osaka, and Hakata (How To Get A Kirby Cafe Reservation!)

Visiting the Kirby Cafe was at the top of our list of things to do in Japan. One of the most exciting things we had heard before we went was how delicious the food was. I am here to tell you this was true!
I can’t wait to share our experience with you and help you plan for the perfect Kirby Cafe experience.
In this post, I will help you know how to get a Kirby Cafe reservation, help you navigate menu options, and provide the best photo op locations!

How to Get A Kirby Cafe Reservation
Getting a Kirby Cafe reservation is so much easier than a Pokémon Cafe reservation! But it can still be difficult!
Get Your Reservation in Advance
Kirby Cafe opens reservations every month on the 10th at 6:00 pm local time.
This means on October 10th you can book all dates for November and so forth.
6:00 pm Japan time was 3:00 AM MST, where I live. Yikes, that was rough. However, I was able to jump on the site exactly at the right time and get a reservation for Osaka.
There are 3 locations. They are the Kirby Cafe Osaka, Kirby Cafe Tokyo, and Kirby Cafe Hakata.
I found Hakata is the easiest location to get a reservation. Osaka was easier than Tokyo. That worked out for us because Kirby Cafe Osaka was where we wanted to go.
Kirby Cafe Hours and Locations
Kirby Cafe Osaka: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Kirby Cafe Tokyo: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Kirby Cafe Hakata: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Once you decide where you would like to make a reservation. You will jump on the designated reservation site and pick your location.
Don’t worry if everything is in Japanese. Scroll down the first page and click through.
This will bring you to a page that will ask how many people are in your party. You will be able to read the numbers, don’t worry. Once you click, the calendar will pop up.
You can view all the available dates and reservation times. Pick your time and make your reservation.
Pro Tip – Don’t wait and think, make a reservation as fast as you can. Already plan what time and day you want to go. Have about 2-3 backup times if your slot is unavailable.
Didn’t Get A Reservation….No Problem
I am going to break this down for each location.
Kirby Cafe Hakata
At the Kirby Cafe in Hakata, you can make a same-day reservation with no problem. There are lots of available slots. This is a site where you do not need to wake up at 3:00 am to get a reservation.
Kirby Cafe Osaka
If you did not get your Kirby Cafe reservation right on the 10th, the calendar for the entire next month will be full. But don’t worry. Kirby Cafe Osaka will have available slots come up 1-2 days before the actual date you want to go. I have seen this several times.
Kirby Cafe Tokyo
Kirby Cafe Tokyo is the most popular location, and it is difficult to get a reservation! Here is what you need to do if you did not get one on the 10th.
Have someone in the USA jump on the Kirby Cafe Tokyo site the day before you want to go and check to see if there is availability.
Have them jump on between 7:00 am and 10:00 am MST. This is your best bet! Everyone in Japan is sleeping!
Are there any Differences Between the Locations?
Yes, some of the locations have special drink options you can only get at the specific location.
There may be a special menu item only available at one location, but for the most part, menu items are similar at each location.
Kirby Cafe Petit
Because my son is a really big Kirby fan, not only did we want to visit the Kirby Cafe, but we also wanted to hit the Kirby Cafe Petit.
You do not need a reservation for Kirby Cafe Petit. These are standalone stores that sell treats.
There are two main locations: Tokyo Station Store and the Tennoji Osaka. Pop-up locations may pop-up from time to time as well.
We went to the Kirby Cafe Petit in Tokyo Station and were disappointed because everything was sold out. It was in the evening.
Pro-Tip – So word to the wise if you can’t get a Kirby Cafe reservation and you want to try some of the delicious treats at the Kirby Cafe Petit location go EARLY!
Luckily, we got our reservation for Kirby Cafe Osaka. We are going to let you know all about our experience and what you can expect when visiting.
How to Get to Kirby Cafe
I will list out the closest train station to each location and what building a floor the Kirby Cafe is located on.
Kirby Cafe Osaka
The closest station to the Kirby Cafe Osaka is the Shinsaibashi Station. It is about a 2-minute walk.
The Kirby Cafe Osaka is located on the 9th Floor of the main building in the Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store.
This is also where the Pokémon Cafe Osaka and Pokémon Center are located.
It is centrally located in Osaka. We were coming from Universal Japan. We decided to take an Uber instead of the train.
Kirby Cafe Tokyo
The closest station to Kirby Cafe Tokyo is the Oshiage Station. It is about a 3-minute walk.
The Kirby Cafe Tokyo is located at the Skytree Town Solamachi on the 4th floor.
This area is super crowded, think Times Square. We did go check it out, but didn’t eat at this location. It is on the same floor as a Pokémon Center.
Kirby Cafe Hakata
The closest station to Kirby Cafe Hakata is Hakata Station. It is a 13-minute walk from the station.
It is located in the Canal City Hakata North Building on the 1st floor.
Take Pictures and Look Around
The Kirby Cafe’s are not huge which is why it is probably hard to get a reservation!
You will have time when you arrive to walk around and take pictures. They have all the most popular menu items displayed.
We were able to walk around and take some photos.

Right when you walk in there is a photo opportunity. This was one of my favorite things. I thought Kirby looked so cute, and the entire setup was perfect.
I loved documenting this awesome experience with my son.
Will I See Kirby?
Sadly, no, there is no live action character at the Kirby cafe.
How to Order at Kirby Cafe Osaka
We did some research before we arrived. We pretty much knew what we wanted to order before we arrived.
The menu is in Japanese, but it was easy to point to what we wanted, and the waitress understood.
Price at Kirby Cafe
I thought the prices were great! Ice cream starts at around 780 yen, which is about $5, and went up to 3200 Yen ($21), and that included a souvenir plate.
What to Order
The food at Kirby Cafe is good! We had read that it was good, but I can verify that it is! I will show you what we ordered below.
Most Popular Item
The most popular item to order is the Kirby Burger and meat sauce pasta. It is very cute, but I didn’t really want to try it!
Kirby Cafe Food Review
We ordered two pizzas. The Kirby Cafe’s Authentic Oven-Baked Pizza Maxim Tomato Margherita and the Kirby Cafe’s authentic wood-fired pizza Quattro Fromage with the aroma of “that” from Popstar Land.
Both were excellent. We really liked them. We ate a lot in Japan, and I would say this was one of my favorite meals! It was so good!
The pizzas have a delicious thin crust.

We ordered the Meta Knight enjoys a quick parfait during training. This ice cream was delicious! The blueberry sauce was a nice touch that was a little different than what Americans are use to. It is the perfect treat!

Kirby Cafe Store
After you are done eating, the store is located right outside the cafe.
There are fun Kirby souvenir items you can choose from.
Big Stuffed Kirby
We ended up getting the biggest stuffed Kirby in the store. I was a little worried how I was going to get that home! We managed!
It was such a fun souvenir for such a fun memory we made!
