How to Get a Pokémon Cafe Tokyo Reservation
To get a Pokémon Cafe Reservation, you will need to jump on the website at 6:00 pm Japan Standard Time, 31 days before you would like to go.
6:00 pm Japan time was 3:00 AM MST, where I live. Yikes, that was rough. I did it multiple nights just trying to get a reservation. And guess what, I couldn’t get it. I have read that bots and scammers grab up reservations.
Reservations are completely sold out within 2 minutes of going live.
You can make a reservation for up to 6 people. If you have more than 6 in your party, you will need multiple reservations.
Didn’t get a Reservation No Problem…..
Here is what you need to do. Have someone in the USA jump on the Pokemon Cafe site the day before you want to go and check to see if there is availability.
My husband jumped on between 7:00 am and 10:00 am MST. My husband found one the day before and snatched it for us!
We were asleep in Japan when he did this for us. When we woke up, we were so excited!
Pokemon Cafe Tokyo Hours
10:30 AM – 10:00 PM
The building opens right at 10:30 AM, so you will not be able to get to the 5th floor exactly on time. The elevators are pretty full.
The last order is taken at 9:30 PM.
Pre- Order Pokemon
As you make your reservation, you have an option to purchase some cute Pokémon souvenirs that will be waiting for you at the table.
This was a total surprise to us because my husband had made the reservation and bought something special for my son. (Shown Above) When we arrived, it was waiting for us.
How To Get To The Pokémon Cafe Tokyo
The Pokemon Cafe is on the 5th floor of the Nihobashi Department Store.
You can take the Ginza Line, Tozai Line, or the Toei Asakusa Line to Nihombashi Station. It is about a 3-5 minute walk.
We opted for an Uber, which is another great option to consider.
Take Pictures and Look Around
When you arrive at the Pokémon Café, you’ll notice two separate lines: one for guests with reservations and another for standby visitors hoping to snag an open spot.
Once checked in, you’ll be guided to your seat—but don’t worry, you’ll have time to explore!
Feel free to wander around, snap photos, and take in all the incredible details packed into the space.
From adorable Pokémon-themed décor to beautifully arranged menu displays, every corner is designed to immerse you in the world of Pokémon.
Pokemon Cafe Photo OP
One of the highlights of the experience was getting to snap a photo with Chef Pikachu himself!
Since our reservation was in the morning, we were lucky—there was hardly any wait, and we got plenty of time for that perfect, picture-worthy moment with the star of the café.
Will I See Pikachu?
Maybe, Maybe Not… When we visited, Pikachu did not make an appearance. We were a little sad. The workers said there are no set times, so basically, if you get lucky, he might come out and greet each table.
How to Order at Pokemon Cafe Tokyo
Once we were seated, we placed our order using the tablet at the table, which made the whole process super easy and fun.
We weren’t sure if the savory options would be our thing, so we went straight for the sweet treats—and they did not disappoint!
Prices at the Pokemon Cafe
So it is so hard to convert from USD to Japanese yen in your head. I kind of gave up!!! As I went back and looked, drinks start around $6 or 957 J yen and meals and desserts range from around $12-$24 (1870 – 3640 Japanese yen)
What to Order at the Pokemon Cafe
My son ordered a stunning Ampharos-themed dessert, complete with fluffy whipped cream, bright red candy accents, and a shimmering scoop of jelly-topped sorbet. It looked almost too magical to eat — almost.
I chose the Pokémon Café’s Berry Chocolate Parfait, a beautiful glass layered with creamy chocolate, tart berries, and topped with a big edible Pokémon Café logo and chocolate sticks.
There were even fun surprises hidden inside, like Pikachu-shaped cereal and a Poké Ball ice cream at the bottom. Every bite was as delicious as it was adorable!
Special Dining Options
There are also souvenir packages you can add on for an extra fee—and if you’re a fan of collectibles, they’re a must!
We had pre-purchased ours ahead of time, which made things super convenient. One of the highlights was getting to keep the adorable themed cup that came with our drink. There’s even a little station where you can wash it before taking it home—a fun and practical keepsake from our visit.
Souvenir Pokemon Stickers
And if you love surprises, you’ll want to know about the special sticker promotion! For every combo of one food item and one dessert, you receive a limited-edition 2-layer Pokémon sticker.
The top layer features a familiar Pokémon, but when you peel it back—bam!—you reveal their Mega Evolution underneath. With designs like Lucario, Charizard, Gardevoir, and more, collecting them feels just as exciting as the meal itself.
Pokemon Cafe Tokyo Food Review
The Ampharos-themed dessert was as delightful to eat as it was to look at. The presentation was pure magic—Ampharos was brought to life with fluffy whipped cream, vibrant yellow custard, and little candy details that made the whole plate feel like a scene from a dream.
The cream itself was surprisingly rich and smooth, not overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the soft cake and light citrusy flavors on the side.
It was a fun dessert that didn’t just rely on cuteness—it actually tasted really good too!
My son gave this a 5 out of 5.
The Sprigatito’s Melon Soda Float was a refreshing drink that looked just as vibrant as the Grass-type Pokémon it’s inspired by.
The bright green melon soda had a sweet, fruity flavor—light and bubbly.
Floating on top was a scoop of vanilla ice cream that slowly melted into the soda, adding a creamy twist to every sip.
It was topped off with adorable Sprigatito-themed decorations, making it almost too cute to drink.
If you’re a fan of melon soda or just want something fun and Instagram-worthy, this float is a must-try!
My son gave this a 5 out of 5.
The Berry Chocolate Parfait at the Pokémon Café wasn’t your typical yogurt-and-fruit parfait—it was more like a decadent layered dessert disguised as something light.
It had a rich chocolate base with sweet-and-slightly-tart berry flavors that balanced everything out beautifully. Topped with fresh strawberries, a thick swirl of whipped cream, and an edible Pokémon Café logo, it looked as good as it tasted.
Hidden inside were fun little surprises, like Pikachu-shaped cereal and a scoop of Poké Ball-themed ice cream, making each spoonful a mix of flavor and fun.
It was the perfect mix of chocolatey indulgence and playful presentation.
I would give it a 4 out of 5.
